Rehearsal Information

The groups rehearse at the following times at Astley Christian Fellowship during school term time:

• Astley Training Band Thursday 6pm - 6.45pm

• Astley Youth Band Thursday 7pm- 9pm

• Astley Unlimited Band Monday 11.30am - 1pm

• Astley Unlimited Choir Monday 10am - 11am

Code of Conduct

Astley Youth Band (and it’s ensembles) are an inclusive organisation where members are encouraged, we expect all members to respect and support each other.
It is expected that members understand that they are representatives of the organisation and should conduct themselves accordingly.
Astley Youth Band expects commitment from its members. Please ensure you get in touch with us if you find you are unable to attend any rehearsals or events and be sure to inform us if you intend to leave the organization.

Uniform and Instruments

Astley Youth Band ensembles are immediately identifiable by their red polo shirts and gold logo. Formal and informal uniforms are required dependent on the job. The uniform required for each job will be communicated to members in advance. See details below for what will be required for formal uniform.

Band members may use their own instruments or they may loan an instrument free of charge from the band stock.

Youth Band Formal Uniform

• Black shoes (smart-no trainers)• Black socks/tights• Black trousers/skirts (smart-no jeans)• Long sleeved white school shirt• Red AYB waistcoat (provided by AYB)• Black bow tie (provided by AYB)

Unlimited Band Formal Uniform

• Black shoes• Black socks/tights• Black trousers/skirts• Women – Smart white top/blouse• Women – Optional black jacket or cardigan • Men - White shirt• Men – Black suit jacket• Men – AUB straight tie (provided by AYB)

Training Band Formal Uniform

Unlimited Choir Formal Uniform

• Black shoes (smart-no trainers)• Black socks/tights• Black trousers/skirts (smart-no jeans)• Red AYB Polo shirt (provided)

• Smart all black with a red accessory

Subscriptions

Astley Training Band costs £5 per month

Astley Youth Band costs £7.50 per month

Astley Unlimited Band costs £10 per month

Astley Unlimited Choir costs £7.50 per month

Multiple ensembles (eg Unlimited Band and Unlimited Choir) costs £16 per month

Communications

All day-to-day communication for Astley Youth Band is done by email. Please email AstleyYouthBand if you are not already on the mailing list.

Safeguarding & Data Protection

We need the information you share with us to run our band and to satisfy our legal responsibilities. We’ll keep it safe for as long as you or your child is an active member of the organisation. Astley Youth Band is the registered data controller and if you would like to find out more about how we keep your information safe, see our data privacy notice.

Astley Youth Band is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. All band officials are asked to complete a DBS check and tutors are checked similarly. All concerns should be forwarded to the safeguarding lead (Neil Raisbeck 07742763500).
